You're going about it the right way by saying that oyu want to lose a small amount of weight right off. Too many people focus on losing 30kg and then quit when they haven't gotten there in the time alotted. The most important thing about losing weight is reminding yourself that it's not just about losing weight, it's about changing habits If you exercise well, but still eat the same bad things, you're doing little good. Start drinking lots of water, purchase a pedometer and wear it on your belt ALL the time. Most of all, don't give up on yourself. Good luck mate.

A trainer recently told me that to lose 1lb of fat one needs to burn 3500 calories. But this should be done with a combination of exercise and reducing ones calorie intake. In my case I had to stop my daily chocolate muffin & Hot Chocolate (no cream and with skimmed milk) from Caffe Nero's

Thanks for reminding me of that Pru Health, I've seen adverts so many times but always forgot to check it out. I was quoted 77/month at Virgin near my office but it seems that with Pru Health I can get membership for less even if I manage to go there only once a week - and get medical cover for free! I guess I'll call them tomorrow and clarify what price I should be looking at.

Great stuff guys! Don't know if it's useful but here's some software we developed in Flex to record weight and blood pressure. Might help keep you focused! http://bloodr.com Free registration, let us know what you think!
